Textile texture

Remember those gorgeous Björk-ish knit neckpieces? Well, Ditte has collaborated with fellow design students, Pil Bang Fischer and Josephine Dohlmann, to create 'Skin & Bone', "a series of new innovative furniture created from the concept of melting textiles and furniture." If you happen to be in Stockholm for the Furniture Fair, have a seat on these for me! I'd love to have the loveseat in my house (although I'm sure you'd definitely not want to fall asleep with your face on such a textured surface). Sigh. These vaguely remind me of this gorgeous woven bodysuit/armour from Osklen's A/W 10 collection (photo via ASVOF).

Hmm, two furniture posts in two days. Methinks I'm thinking about domestic matters...

1) Designer: Alexandra Groover - Okay, so I actually discovered her on June 19th which was technically still spring, but whatever.
2) Fashion grad student: Stacey Grant
6) Custom made piece (not for me): Norwegian Wood rib cage dress for Queen Michelle
8) Convertible piece: Attila Design grey dress
10) Wanted Accessory: Ditte Lerche knit neckpiece
11) Photos: FROG scarves
14) Movie: Moon
15) Website: Not Just a Label
19) Most beautiful dress in the world: Stacey Grant's tulle and embroidered silk draped dress

You were expecting pictures to accompany each item? Yikes. Sorry, but my Wii Fit is calling.

Mutant loveliness

I've been thinking a lot lately of taking a third Bachelor's degree. If I'm not going to use the other two (well, I'm kind of using one, but it's my least favorite degree), why not get another? And seeing the work of this student on NJAL makes me think even moreso that it could be a good idea...

The student in question is Signe Rand Ebbesen. I just love the knit neck piece/crop top from her Mutant project posted on her NJAL page ('Mutant' must be a common textiles' student project - remember this?). And there much more wondrous things to be found on her website! The 'One Piece Print' is absolutely gorgeous. I am definitely ready for all things fall related.

edit: I do believe that Signe and Ditte may be in the same program, as they both attend the Danish Design School and both had 'Mutant' knit projects. Ahso!

Ditte Lerche

Wow, I hope the August curator for The Shop down at NJAL takes note of this designer. And, somebody, contact Björk. I think she'd like these (as would I). My eyes are so wide right now.
