Me, a leggings virgin? That's preposterous!

I am a leggings virgin no longer. Well, I won't be in 2ish weeks. I realized that I needed to break down and get a pair because of my obsession with my ArtLab Andromache dress(es!). I just couldn't decide if I should get black or a grey. And I knew that I wanted a regular rise or higher-waisted fit. And as I loathe going into American Apparel, and Bobelly was on vacation and out of the fabric I liked, I just hadn't purchased any. Then, when I saw these beauties last night in the fabulous Norwegian Wood Etsy shop, I nearly cried 'Eureka!' out loud. Just like Angie, I'm in love with elbow patches on grandpa sweaters and jackets. So I think the knee detailing is simply brilliant. And, these are both grey and black, so I didn't have to choose one colour. And they're a regular rise. AND they're warmer for the fall weather which is here already. Hurray!

Leggings please, knees optional

Day 3: Whilst I refuse to take my Andromache's Deconstruction off (and, perhaps this shall be my de(con)struction), the weather is not cooperating and I do not want to wear my jeans any longer. So I am thinking that I may finally break down and join the fray in purchasing a set of leggings. Of course I'll likely go the route of Bobelly and shimmy myself into some custom made organic bamboo cotton 'footless tights'. Nonetheless, a girl can dream, and dream I will of Juan Hernandez Daels' extravagant leggings and body leotards from his Metropolis collection, found of course during some light Sunday clicking on NJAL. Those knee cutout leggings would actually make me want to bare my knees (which I think are the most unattractive aspect of the human body). And I must have that top made of rectangles! I prefer that type of geometry to the mathematic kind anyday...Sigh.

P.S. My eBay listings end tomorrow. The green Genevieve Dietz dress will be sold, so bid if you've been eying it. And this could possibly be the last chance to get my Lorimarsha dress for uber cheap (it's listed at $40+shipping), as I'm leaning towards keeping it forever once again. I'll take 15% off the final price if you win and mention my blog! Just so you know...

Snow in May

Why oh why do I still live in Edmonton? It snowed yesterday briefly and snowed again today for quite a while. It's the middle of May. I'll blame it on global warming. Too bad walking and biking everywhere can't make the weather here more tolerable.

Today's likes:

1) All of my grandparents are alive. I like that a lot.

2) My new Bobelly cozyshrug that I mentioned the other day. I can't take this thing off. Who knew bamboo could be so comfortable!

3) Not successfully selling things on ebay. Now, I know this sounds odd, but last week I listed a couple of Etsy purchases because I had not yet worn them, wanted some extra cash, and had gained a little since I had got them. But then I lost a couple pounds, tried them on again, and got a new haircut. These three things led to me instantly regretting listing them. And lo and behold the ebaying world isn't so smart when it comes to handmade fashion. Hurray for me! I still want to alter this Lorimarsha dress a bit so it fits me better in the bust, but I can't wait to wear it (as soon as it stops snowing...). I'm indeed the luckiest girl to own this dress:

You may want to check out my ebay page (seller/user name buffy_leigh) to take advantage of my occasional lapses in judgment on cleaning out my closet...

Today's dislikes:

1) My headache is now reaching the 2 week mark, but today it has this nasty stabbing quality in my left temple. I should get my eyes checked, pronto. I'd really like some Vivienne Westwood frames anyway.

2) Umm, snow in May, obviously.

3) Income tax - I get way too much deducted off my paycheque. I get it all back in February anyway, so why not just give it to me when I earn it.

To add something to the blogging world and to restore my grammar skills

I always wanted to be a writer and loved writing papers in my 6 years of university. Now I've been out of school for a couple years and I sound like I'm in dire need of an English grammar course. So please, if anything, please correct my grammar as I ramble on about my daily musings/favorites/dislikes.

So, first up, today's favorites:

Amazing Irish metal band that I saw last night. Sadly, I only caught the last couple songs of their set, their first appearance in Canada. I've loved all things Irish since I can remember, so I was immediately intrigued, even though the singer looked pretty creepy with the black makeup melting off his shaved head. But seriously good stuff. I'm kind of bummed that I didn't pick up the sweet ancient Roman art looking t-shirt I saw at the show, especially since it's not on their website. If anyone sees them, I'd be most delighted if you'd get one for me!

2) Sigur Rós' "Von" on vinyl

I ordered this probably 5 months ago, and it finally showed up yesterday from the UK. Beat up, but amazing sound. This is the first album I heard from them, and I remember it freaking me out. But now I love it, and am so happy they finally released it on vinyl (limited edition, 200g at that). I often think that I'd be fine if I only had Sigur Rós to listen to for the rest of my life.

3) Scarves

It's horribly cold out today, and although I'm inside without a scarf on, I have many favorites to turn to in case I was crazy enough to go outside. My current likes are Bonzie's Le Coquette scarf, Bobelly's Cozyshrug, and Las Lopez's Point lace shawl. Whoever invented scarves deserves a medal of some sort.

Today's dislikes:

1) Sore throats (specifically mine).

2) Snow and below 0 temperatures in the middle of May (I hate Edmonton).

3) Sunburnt burns.

And finally, does anyone remember how to play 7-Up? All I remember is putting my head down and my thumb up...
