Billow talk

For some reason I'm really liking this billowy leg silhouette lately, as seen on these pieces by Plotz (top; as posted by Susie Bubble today), these pants by E-Label (bottom left), and that drool-worthy piece by Josefin Strid (bottom right; Looklet image by Jaana). I have the entire next week off, so I better shove that procrastination in a corner and get to work on my dress form project. The plan is to attempt to turn a floor length strapless jersey dress into such a billowy layer in my 3-layered upcycled masterpiece. In any case, I must get the project unpinned so I can take finally take some pictures of my newest (and perhaps finest) treasure.

Destination holiday

Top of the line

Today marks the launch of two of my most favorite labels' collaboration with Topshop Oxford Circus' pop-up shop, EDIT. Yes, Topshop. The first and long-awaited one is that of Norwegian Wood. As posted on Angie's blog and later reported by Susie Bubble, Angie of NW will have her signature fringe necklaces, feather necklaces, leather cage skirts, and Road Warrior elastic harness available (some in Topshop exclusive colours), as well as brand new panelled leggings and a panelled t-shirt. Eek! A big congrats to Angie for being given such a huge opportunity, and for being the first Canadian to be picked for EDIT! Second up is the announcement that E-Label will be arriving at Topshop Oxford Circus. No more information than that brief Facebook post. I can't wait to find out more, especially if this means some more beautiful black clothing to drool over!

So, seems I'm on the wrong side of the pond again, as there's no indication that any Norwegian Wood or E-Label Topshop pieces will be available online. There is however another exciting collaboration that is closer to my neck of the woods: Yokoo, who made my gorgeous new bag, is teaming up with Urban Outfitters! The launch of this new line will be end of October/beginning of November, with this adorable logo (below; via Yokoo's Flickr). Congrats Yokoo!

Christmas Wishlist and Tuesday Interview

In case anyone is curious, for Christmas I'd like these new Adidas by Stella McCartney Mahtva boots in US size 9.5, and, of course, the Twist Hoodie in size M-L by E-Label. And no, it's not too early to think about Christmas. I personally prefer to have my shopping done by the beginning of December if at all possible. In fact, I just found the perfect gift for my sister today on Etsy. Hurray!

By the way, I may be taking a break tomorrow from the blog as it's Labour Day here. And I will indeed be labouring by doing our biweekly laundry for the entire day. But wake up bright and early on Tuesday for my exclusive interview with Patricia Ayres of ArtLab! I'm rather excited about it, not only as Patricia is one of my most favorite designers, but also because it is the first interview of a hopefully semi-frequent feature on kOs. Stay tuned! Oh, and let me know if there's a particular designer I blog about that you'd like to see interviewed!

The Forgotten with Necklush

If you're sad you missed out on that amazing Quillinan neckpiece, The Forgotten with Zip, perhaps you should check out these new neckpieces by Necklush. It doesn't close with a zipper, but it does have a long strap to tie at whatever length you'd like. I've hummed and hawed over getting a Necklush for so long, and now the one I want has gone up in price and is more than I want to pay. But I think these are a cute and cheaper option if you just have to buy this new 'it' brand. I think I should probably just save my pennies for my new 'it' brand, E-label. Mmm...hoodies...And besides, I didn't miss out on The Forgotten with Zip.

E is for Hood-E

Uh oh. Is it cheating if I'm just looking? Tipped off by Her Highness, Queen Michelle, I just clued in to the wonder that is E-Label. Honestly, all I had to hear was that they work extensively with jersey and are based in Reykjavik to make me an instant fan. But then I saw the hoodies. I'm in trouble. Perhaps if I get the pullover one instead of a zipped one, The Hoody won't be jealous. Here's hoping.

I will continue to figure out the exchange rate from Icelandic Kronurs to Canadian dollars while I enjoy my birthday apple pie and iced coffee with milk, courtesy of my lovely parents. Perhaps listening to Sigur Rós and Björk some more will unlock the secrets of foreign currency...
