You are currently online.

It seems as though I always want to spend the most money when I have none to spend. Sigh. Anyway, I'll pass on my current wishlist (of sorts) to you in the event that the Internet gods hear and send these lovely items my way.

1) I saw a couple different colours of wool crepe fabric sitting on Lauren's work table when I was there in June, but don't recall asking what would be made with it. But the Internets have revealed that what I saw are new colours for the much-loved mydearthing Opening Dress. I love the new (4-ply) bronze colour, but am also tempted by the (2-ply) navy option.

2) Queen Michelle's post this morning led me to a new-to-me label called Factory by Erik Hart, whose new pieces are available at I Don't Like Mondays. I'm not sure where the pieces are produced, but I quite like the fact that the leather used in the jacket and the dress is actually vegan. I'm not one of those vegetarians that likes eating fake meat products, and I don't know if I'd want to pretend that I'm wearing animal skin either. But it's nice to see an alternative provided for those who do like the look of leather.

3) Now that I'm a fan of that lace-up pointy toed shoe style, I kinda sorta like these Melissa oxfords (also available on IDLM). However, I can't help but think that plastic would make my feet revolt (and/or revolting).

4) You may remember my post from a while back on Audrey Cantwell's new label, Ovate. I just had a second look at that post this morning and discovered that Audrey has just put up an e-shop for the first Ovate collection. I didn't know that those lovely looking loose knit pieces all contain leather (sigh), but I also hadn't noticed that the sheer chiffon pieces have a vertical print down the centre that is a line of poetry in Rune script. Those felted high waist leggings are pretty sweet too.

Winged shoes

Somehow I missed these during my weekly perusal of Vivienne Westwood's website, but Susie of Style Bubble kindly pointed them out today. I'm a huge fan of the VW/Melissa shoe collaboration (especially this season's 3-strap ballerina shoe), as they are entirely vegan friendly. I have not yet gotten myself a pair though, as shoes are quite low on my list of priorities when it comes to spending money. And I'm pretty sure that I would never purchase these new S/S 10 shoes (available either October or November or February - ?), as I'm too tall for even a flat wedged shoe. I'm also not too keen on the foot strap detailing - I'd perhaps prefer if it were a nice closed rounded toe. What I do love about these, though, is the classical mythology nod with the Hermes/Mercury wings at the ankles (and the marble effect of the PVC itself). What can I say? I'm a Classics nerd. It's worked out so far for me, as it's what attracted me to Patricia Ayres' ArtLab pieces, with titles such as 'Bustle of Lysistrata', 'Athena's Head Covering', and 'Andromache's Deconstruction'. And so, it only makes sense that I give Vivienne Westwood yet another thumbs up.

I am a proud wife

My husband finished 15th out of 31 guys in his first ever mountain bike race! I am so very proud. The race was a lot of fun to watch and it's a gorgeous gorgeous day out. I got a wee bit of scalp burn since I am not a hat-wearing kind of girl, but I shall live. I wish I had Jenclaire's romantic Isadora Duncan dress to wear today, although the bike course was indeed too dusty to wear this beauty out:

I'm also really wanting these Melissa shoes today. I was searching for something close to those Chie Mihara bootie sandals I posted about before (but vegan), and stumbled upon these. Totally digging the modern jellies. Probably in black though. The only gold shoes I've ever owned were my wedding shoes, and I imagine things will stay that way.

And on an unrelated note, is it wrong to like red and purple together? I got these delightful Under the Root 'Jester Blumen' for lounging around the house in, and now I quite like the colour combo. There's just something lovely about a dark, romantic, gothic purple with a vibrant, passionate (and magical?) red...
